•  Honors Robotics and Drone Technologies

    Course #8220    Grades: 9-12

This course has been designed for students who would like to explore the rapidly expanding technologies involved in building, programming, and controlling robots. Through the use of the LEGO EV3 robotic kits, the students will build robots that use light, ultrasonic, sound, touch, and motion sensors to perform a variety of tasks. These skills are challenged through the a final design challenge. Additionally, students will advance to coding their robots in the language RobotC.  This portion of the course parallels Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Academy. Students will also get an introduction to Computer Science that will expose them to additional coding languages. Finally, students will learn to design and fly drones. This unit will also contain FAA flight regulations, career exploration, flight phyics, and weather science.
