  • Poquessing 1:1 Technology Information

Neshaminy is excited to once again offer each middle school student an electronic device that will allow them to work in a modern, collaborative environment both in school and at home. This year each 5th and 8th grade student will receive a DELL Chromebook, while students in 6th and 7th grade will continue to use iPads. These devices will be handed out during the first weeks of school. Families will once again be asked to pay a technology usage fee of $30 (maximun of $90 for families with multiple students) to cover insurance before the device can be taken home. Please read the information in the documents below and fill out the attached forms completely.  Fifth grade students and new students who attend orientation on Wednesday, August 23rd may return the technology forms and technology fee payment at that time.  Forms for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students may be returned to the Poquessing office along with payment during normal business hours (7:00 am - 3:30 pm M-F) by August 29, 2017. Students of families who have not filled out the forms or paid the fee will not be allowed to take their devices home. Payment must be made by money order, cash or through ParentOnline/SchoolCafe.  No checks will be accepted.  The fee will be waived for families who are on the free/reduced lunch program, but the technology paperwork must still be completed.

  • New vaccination requirements

The vaccination requirements for all students in Pennsylvania have changed, and these changes could potentially affect all students. Students in grades K-12 now must have received four doses of polio vaccine, and in addition the fourth dose has to be administered on or after the 4th birthday and at least 6 months after the previous dose given. Please review these and other changes by reading this document from the PA Department of Health. If you have further questions, please consult your family healthcare provider.

ALL AFFECTED STUDENTS MUST HAVE THESE NEW VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS COMPLETED WITHIN 5 DAYS OF THE START OF SCHOOL OR THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND.

  • Supplemental Medical Insurance

Neshaminy is offering parents and guardians the opportunity to purchase a low-cost primary excess group insurance plan for students to supplement their family medical insurance.  The district does not carry medical insurance on students, and student accident insurance can help you eliminate the possibility of out-of-pocket expenses, since many group insurance policies no longer pay full hospital and medical expenses and may require a deductible or co-insurance.
