PJAS Competition
NHS Science Club participates in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) competition every year. Through this competition, students chose what topic interests them, conduct their own research plan and experiment, collect data, and formulate a presentation. Students present their findings at regionals (at the end of February/beginning of March). All students place as awards are GPA-based. First-place students have the opportunity to go to Penn State for a Sunday-Tuesday in early/mid May to compete at the state level and make new connections. Students stay in dorms, experience college life, and have the opportunity for scholarships if they make it to states! Any student in grades 7-12 are eligible to participate.
