Food Service Information and PoliciesComing soon: Covid-19 safety / payment procedure informationMore information can be found in the pages linked to the left side of this page. The Food Services department is self-supporting and receives no local taxpayer dollars. This requires that we operate as a profitable business, while providing nutritious and appealing meals to students and staff and following the guidelines of the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the PA Dept. of EducationWhat is considered a complete meal?Breakfast - Students are offered 4 components and must take 3 - one must be a fruit or juice.Components offered: 1. Bread/Grain, 2. Meat/Meat Alternate or additional Bread/Grain, 3. Fruit or Juice and 4. Milk
Lunch - Students are offered 5 components and must take 3 - one must be a fruit or veggie.Components offered: 1. Meat/Meat Alternate 2. Bread/Grain, 3. Fruit 4. Vegetable 5. Milk.Note: Some Entrees include 2 components (M/MA and B/G) such as Pizza, Burgers, Sandwiches, Breakfast Sandwich, Mini Pancakes, etc. When an entree consists of 2 components, the student only has to take a fruit or veggie with the entree - but of course may take all components offered.Payment Procedures
Neshaminy uses School Café for payments. You will need to register at https://schoolcafe.com here you can check balances, set balance alerts, set recurring payments etc. A 5% convenience fee will be charged on all online payments.
You'll need your child's student ID number to register. If you do not know your child’s ID number, you can call your child’s school or the Food Service Office on 215-809-6542.
Payments can also be sent to school by cash, check, or money order. Neshaminy School District will never call your home and ask you for credit card information.
Free / Reduced Meals
If you were approved for free or reduced meals during the 2019-2020 school year, your eligibility will not carry over to the 2020-2021 school year. YOU MUST REAPPLY EVERY YEAR FOR FREE AND REDUCED ELIGIBILITY!
Click HERE for more information and links to the online application forms.
Cash / Change
Change is not given to a student but added to the student's account since the money could get lost or be spent on something other than their meal. Parents can send a letter requesting change be given.
We recommend using School Café online payments or sending a check for depositing money in your child's account since we are unable to trace cash transactions.Seniors / Departing Students
Graduating seniors or students leaving the district should send an email regarding balances in their account and report if they want to transfer the balance to a sibling, donate the balance to needy students or receive a refund by check. We will ask for details in order to create a refund check. Refund checks are sent out once a month. If you have any questions, please call 215-809-6542 or email your request to adefeo@neshaminy.org
