  • 2019 Student Orientation Schedule

    When:  Tuesday, August 27th

    Kindergarten and New Student Orientation will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 am.

    Open House for all returning students will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 pm.

    Teachers will be present to greet students & their parents.

    This will also provide an opportunity to drop off supplies.

  • Applebee's Flapjack Breakfast Fundraiser

    The annual fundraiser will be held August 24, 2019 from 8-10 am. $5 pp/CASH ONLY 

    Come on out and have a delicious pancake breakfast served by your favorite Tawanka teachers!

    Wednesday, September 11th - 1st and 3rd

    1st grade: 6:00 - 6:40 pm

    3rd grade: 7:00 - 7:40 pm

    Thursday, September 12th - K, 2nd & 4th

    Kindergarten - 6:00 - 6:40 pm

    2nd grade - 7:00 - 7:40 pm

    4th grade - 8:00 - 8:40 pm

  • Summer Reading Lists

    The Neshaminy School District has created a list of recommended titles to help students make selections for their summer reading. The purpose of summer reading is to foster continued reading and encourage a lifelong love of literacy. The books below each grade level are intended to provide guidance and are not required texts.

  • Title 1 Helpful Hints

    Here are some suggestions for how to nurture a growing reader:

     1. Read daily with your child.

     2. Notice what interests your child and help them find books about those things.

     3. Check on your child's progress by listening to them read aloud, read what they write, and ask teachers how they are doing in school.

     4. Continue reading aloud to older children even after they have learned to read independently.

     5. Praise your child's effort and newly learned skills.
