SafeArrival Attendance Reporting System
Neshaminy School District is pleased to offer a new service called SafeArrival, which will make it easier for parents and guardians to report an absence for their child. Using a mobile app, a website or a toll-free phone number, you can report both a planned absence in advance or one on the same day (in the case of illness or other unforeseen circumstances, for example). This is part of the same system that alerts you with a phone call when your child has an unexcused absence.
For the time being, Neshaminy schools will still accept handwritten notes and phone calls to their Main Offices for absence reporting. The hope is, however, that our families will find SafeArrival easy to use and more convenient. It also streamlines the reporting process which will reduce the number of automated absence calls generated each day.

SchoolMessenger App:
- Download the SchoolMessenger Home app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Create an account using the email address on file with Neshaminy School District. *
- Select "Attendance" from the menu, and then select "Report an Absence."

* IMPORTANT: You MUST use your email address that is on file with the district or the app won't work. If you are uncertain which address is on file, please check your contact information in Home Access Center.

SafeArrival Tips:

- Your username and password are the same for both the mobile app and the website.
- Options for reporting are available anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, up to the cutoff time on the day of the absence (11:45 p.m.). If you do not report your child's absence in SafeArrival by 11:45 p.m. on the day of the absence, you will need to email the attendance office at your child's school within 3 days to report the absence.
- In the event of an unreported absence in SafeArrival, the SchoolMessenger Communicate automated notification system will contact parents/guardians via email, text (if opted in to receive texts), and phone.
- The phone number that will appear on your caller ID is 1-888-256-5072
- If you report your child's absence in SafeArrival before the start of the school day, you will not receive these notifications, and you will not need to supply a note to your child's school's attendance email.

Do I have to create an account with SchoolMessenger to use SafeArrival?
A SchoolMessenger app or web account is required to use SafeArrival. If you do not want to create an account, you can still report absences by calling the toll-free phone number 1-888-256-5072 . Creating a SchoolMessenger account will allow you to easily review and update absences and is highly recommended.
If you cannot set up your account, you do not see the ATTENDANCE option, or you do not see your child(ren) listed in your account, please confirm that you have the same email address as the one Neshaminy has on file which is listed in Home Access Center.

What happens if I don't report my child's absence?
If you don't report your child's absence in advance, the automated SchoolMessenger notification system will try to contact you. This may include email, text messages, or phone calls. You will be asked to provide the reason for your child's absence immediately. You may do so using the toll-free number website or mobile app.

How will I know that an absence has been recorded?
Whenever an absence is reported or updated, you will receive a confirmation notice by email and/or text message (if you have opted to receive text messages from Neshaminy.)

If I send in a hand-written note, do I also have to enter it into SafeArrival?
No. The Main Office staff at your child's school will manually enter your hand written absence note into the system. You may still receive a phone call, text message or email alert from the system if the note is not received and recorded in time, however.
