10th Grade AP Prep. English - Summer Reading
-
Dear Parents or Guardians of Incoming AP Prep English Tenth Graders:
The English Department of Neshaminy High School is pleased to announce the continuation of our summer reading expectations for incoming AP Prep English 10 students. Studies have shown that students who continue to read during the summer are more perceptive readers, more expressive writers, and more thoughtful speakers. Reading during the summer increases the awareness of the connection between reading for pleasure and reading for knowledge. Summer reading can help students become independent, life-long learners.
Students entering AP Prep English 10 in the fall are required to read Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut.
Thank you for supporting your students in their efforts to continue reading this summer in preparation for the fall. We encourage you to have a conversation with your student about the text or even read along with them! Have an amazing summer!
Sincerely,
The Neshaminy High School English Department
