A native from the Midwest, Mrs. DeAngelis is a proud Neshaminy teacher and parent. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. from Bradley University (IL) and a M.S. from Indiana University in Bloomington. Prior to her teaching career, she was employed as a registered dietitian and worked with all age groups from infants to the elderly. Mrs. D. earned her certification in elementary education from Rider University and taught 2nd grade at both Hoover and Schweitzer schools. She then taught child development with its laboratory preschool, as well as other FCS courses, at the high school for eight years prior to returning to Herbert Hoover. After teaching 2nd grade for 2 more years, she returned to NHS in 2015. She loves to challenge and inspire her classes of Child Development students. A lifelong learner, she is constantly challenging herself to learn more about ways to improve student learning, keep students motivated and engaged and make learning a lifelong enjoyment.
When not in the classroom, she spends time with her husband, Joe, four adult children plus their significant others, her labradoodle, Charlie, and her 2 grandsons, Colton and Luca! She loves the Phillies, reading, genealogy, traveling and relaxing poolside. She is an advocate for heathful eating (ask her about Community Supported Agriculture), and her ultimate passion is yoga with its wonderful benefits to body, mind and spirit. Namaste!
