    Subject/Grade: español

My name is Señorita Irwin and I am teaching Spanish 1and this year at Neshaminy High School.   In the past I have been a co-advisor of the "Action Adventure Club" where students and I participated in improv storytelling and roleplay using Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition as a guide.  It is so much fun!  This is my 7th year at the high school and the 8th year teaching in the district.  I have taught levels 1-3 of Spanish at the high school.  I have also taught 8th grade Spanish 1 at both Sandburg and Maple Point for the 2015-2016 school year.  I am a proud 2006 Neshaminy graduate and am so excited to be back teaching in my home district.

In 2010 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education Spanish from California University of Pennsylvania.  In June 2017 I earned my Masters of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University.  In January 2022 I earned my Masters of Science in Learning and Technology also from Western Governors University.  I am also certified in PK-4 and Library Science and a member of Alpha Mu Gamma, the National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society for both Spanish and French.  During college I traveled abroad to Tamarindo, Costa Rica where I stayed with a host family.  I have taught Spanish for five different school districts and was an Instructional Aide for one year at Hoover Elementary.

For as long as I remember I've always wanted to be a teacher and it was my love of the Spanish language, culture, and people that helped in the decision to be a Spanish teacher.  I enjoy working and learning from my students while creating a fun, comfortable, and educational atmosphere where I can help them continue with their learning of another language.

I hope we all have a great school year!

       Saludos,
