Keep this is mind while things are on sale. You may want to stock up now!You may leave your textbook(s) at home for homework assignments. We will have a class set availableClassAll students are expected to obey the rules and regulations in their Neshaminy High School Handbook.
General rules for my classroom:• Be respectful
• Be safe
• Be responsible
• Be cooperative
• Be preparedSpecific rules for my classroom:-
There will be absolutely no cell phone use in my class unless approved by the teacher for that specific time (ie. for research, or to write homework in your calendar). Students will receive one warning before taking the phone, contacting home and writing the student up for disciplinary action.
-
Students must ask permission to use the bathroom or go to their locker and must sign in and out of class each time they leave. Pass usage will be monitored and limited with the use of a hall pass to be signed by the teacher with each visit.
- All rules listed in the Student Handbook apply in my classroom.
Homework policy:Sometimes homework will be worth points towards your grade, and sometimes it will not. However, it is ALWAYS extremely important to do your homework by the time it is due. Otherwise you will miss important knowledge that will help you in our daily lessons. Homework isn’t assigned just to give you something to do. It is given in order to prepare you for what we are going to do in class or reinforce what we already learned.- There will be a penalty for late work. You will typically lose 10 percentage points every day an assignment is late. For instance, a 10 point homework assignment will lose 1 point per day, but a 100 point project will lose 10 points per day. Once an assignment is one week late, you may earn a zero on the assignment. If we go over the work before you turn it in, it will be counted as ½ credit. All work will be considered a zero after a test is given on the material. If late work becomes a chronic problem, half credit may be given immediately.
- It is expected that corrections should be made on all homework assignments when we review it in class.
Extra Credit and Second Chance Learning Opportunities:- If you do not reach your learning target(s) in a given area, you will usually be given an opportunity to re-assess your learning.
- In order to re-assess you will need to provide ample proof of what you did differently to achieve your goal on your second try. You will need to provide this proof and re-assess within a reasonable amount of time.
- However, if you have missed homework assignments leading up to the assessment, you may not be allowed the opportunity to re-assess. Reassessment will be monitored and it will be limited if it appears the student is taking advantage of the situation.
- Some extra credit will be available throughout the marking period. If you want it, take advantage of it when it is offered instead of asking me what you can do to bring your grade up the week before grades are due.
