  • Update: PA extends school closure

Posted by Chris Stanley on 3/24/2020 4:20:00 PM

Yesterday, Governor Wolf extended school closings for students through April 9 and enacted a "shelter in place" order for Bucks County and surrounding areas. Given our school calendar, this means that the earliest Neshaminy students will return to our school buildings will be Monday, April 13. We will keep you posted if this changes.

Under the governor’s most recent order, we are permitted to continue our essential functions. These include, but are not limited to, the "grab and go" meal distribution, support for our technology connectivity, and instructional work toward the development of our online Learning Opportunities.

This week, you received information related to Phase 2 of our Learning Opportunities for all students. Next week, our teachers will be focusing on the preparation of lessons for Neshaminy’s Phase 3 online instructional program. Phase 3 learning will be activated if the state orders an even longer school closing.

Please continue to visit our COVID-19 Central website for updates and check your email for important information about these initiatives.

    Joseph Jones III

    Superintendent of Schools

    Letter from Dr. Rob McGee:

Some Updates on the Learning Opportunities in Canvas.

    1. As expected, there were some technical glitches with access to particular software and/or websites from home on Chromebooks.  NSD Staff is working to correct such issues.  Please continue to email us what isn’t working technologically from your end.
    2. A Middle School Art Learning Opportunities Module has been added.  Thank you Dr. Stacy Potter, NSD Art Lead Teacher!

    1. As of this email, 2,300 students out of 5,600 in Grades 5 – 12 have not accepted the Invite to the Neshaminy Learning Opportunities Courses.
    2. You can view a video here: on how to “Accept” and access the Learning Opportunities Course.  If you do not see the invitation, please email me, I’ll re-invite you.  (There has been a rash of ‘mysterious’ Invitation Deletions)

Again, please don’t hesitate to call or email questions.

    Rob McGee, Ph.D.

    Director of Secondary Education
    Neshaminy School District

  • Chromebook requests

Posted by Chris Stanley on 3/24/2020 11:30:00 AM

If a family missed the Chromebook distribution and needs a device, please fill out the online form found at the link below:

You will be contacted with instructions on how to receive your Chromebook.

Please limit requests to only those students who do not have access to another device at home (such as a family PC or laptop) for online learning. We also ask that families limit Chromebook requests to one per household. Siblings should share District devices already in their possession whenever possible.
