• Ebola Guidance Information
     
    The following is information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention:  http:\\www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/symptoms/index.html
     
     
    If a student or staff member has a fever of greater than 38.6 degrees Celsius or 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit
     
    AND
     
    If they have additional symptoms such as severe headache, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or unexplained bleeding
     
    AND
     
    In the past three weeks before the onset of symptoms, has the individual:
     
    • Traveled to West Africa - speciafically Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone?
    • Been in contact with the blood or body fluids of a person know to have or suspected to have Ebola?
    • Attended the funeral proceedings for a person suspected or know to have died of Ebola?
    • Handled bats or non-human primates (monkeys, gorillas or chimpanzees) from disease-endemic areas?
     
    If any of the above information applies to a student or staff member in your school system, immediately contact your local health department or the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 1-877-PA-HEALTH 91-877-724-3248). For students, please contact their parent(s) to pick them up from school and transport to their local healthcare provider.
