    PA Pre-K Counts is a grant program funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that provides FREE, high-quality pre-kindergarten education to families who meet the age and financial criteria. 


    PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

    To be eligible for the 2025-2026 PA Pre-K Counts program, children and families must meet the following criteria: 

    • Your child turned 3, or 4 by September 1st, 2025
    • Your total household income may not exceed 300% of the federal income guidelines chart below:

    Frequently Asked Questions 

    My financial income is over the 300% financial guideline limit for my household size. Can I still apply?

    No, the Pre-K Counts program is a grant-funded program provided by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning. Since this is a grant-funded program, which is free of charge to all participants, we must follow the guidelines set forth by OCDEL

    Is transportation provided?

    No, transportation is not provided. Families are required to provide transportation to and from the school location they are assigned. 

    Is before and after care provided?

    No, the PA Pre-K Counts grant does not provide before or after care for students. If you need support paying for before or after care, please visit the Child Care Works Subsidized Program: Child Care Works Subsidized child care program 

    Do I need to live within Neshaminy School District to attend the Neshaminy Pre-K Counts Program?

    No, the Neshaminy School District Pre-K program is open to all residents of Pennsylvania. Students from other local districts are invited to apply.

    Is the program a half or full-day program?

    The Neshaminy School District Pre-K Counts program is a full-day program. Daily on-time attendance is a requirement of the program.    

    What can I expect from a PA Pre-K Counts classroom?

    • Full day classes in the Neshaminy School District
    • The hours vary at each location. They are approximately 8:30 am - 2:30 pm.
    • Certified Teachers and CDA Certified Instructional Assistants with the education and expertise to teach young children
    • A curriculum that will help your child grow academically and socially
    • Staff will help your child adjust to pre-kindergarten and smoothly move on to kindergarten.
    • Small class size (18 students per teacher and one instructional assistant)

    Where are the Neshaminy PA Pre-K Counts classrooms located?

    The 2025-2026 PA Pre-K Counts school locations will be announced in July.

    When will I know if my child is accepted?

    Acceptance into the PA Pre-K Counts program is based on the needs of the family, not from the date of the application.

    Families that meet the program guidelines are typically notified in July. Pre-K Counts is funded by the state budget, so if there is a delay in passing the state budget, there will be a delay in notifying families.

    What supplies does my child need for the program?

    The grant pays for all costs of the program, including supplies and meals. All materials will be provided at no charge. Please provide a standard-sized backpack. 

    Does my child need to be potty-trained?

         No, children do not need to be potty-trained to be enrolled in the Pre-K Counts program.
