    6th Grade Reading

            
              Mrs. Harkins began her career in September 1988 teaching special education students at Neshaminy High School.  Since that time, she has taught a variety of subjects to special education students at Albert Schweitzer Elementary School, Carl Sandburg Middle School, and Maple Point Middle School. Several years ago, she made a career change to teach 6th grade math at Neshaminy Middle School. Upon the closing of Neshaminy Middle, Mrs. Harkins returned to Maple Point to teach the same grade and subject. Mrs. Harkins has also taught 6th grade English at Maple Point. Most recently, Mrs. Harkins' teaching assignment is 6th grade Reading at Maple Point.  She enjoys teaching and meeting the individual learning needs of all her students.

              Mrs. Harkins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from LaSalle University certifying in elementary and special education.  She earned a Master of Education degree in Reading from Beaver College (now known as Arcadia University). Mrs. Harkins is a certified Reading Specialist.   

              When Mrs. Harkins is not teaching, she enjoys being with her family. Some of her hobbies include: reading, biking with her family, interior design/decorating, cooking traditional family recipes and capturing family memories with pictures and video.
