• Meet the Teacher

Hello, my name is Mrs. Gartenmayer and I am very excited to be with you this year in fifth grade at Maple Point Middle School! This will be my first year back teaching at Maple Point and entering my 30th year of teaching.

I am proud of Neshaminy a graduate, of the class of 1990. After graduating from high school, I went on to pursue my degree in education. I first attended Bucks County Community College where I received my associate degree in Early Childhood Education. Furthering my pursuit to obtain a bachelor's degrees, I attended and graduated from Holy Family College (now University) in Elementary and Special Education.

My teaching career began as a substitute teacher in various buildings in Neshaminy School District.  The following year I received a position as a Special Education teacher at Neshaminy Middle School working with students in 8th and 9th grade.  The following year I was transferred to Maple Point Middle School.  During my time at Maple Point I have taught Special Education for grades 6th and 9th then transferred to Regular Education Math for 6th and 7th grade.  My teaching then took me to Lower Southampton Elementary teaching 4th and 5th grade.  When Tawanka Elementary reopened I continued my teaching there for 5 years. I am so very happy to be back here at Maple Point.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Eric (We have been married for 31 years.), sons: Ryan 26 and Kyle 22.  We enjoy watching them play lacrosse and traveling to different places to see the sites, places to eat and things to do.  I enjoy working around the house with my husband doing various improvements inside and out, gardening and reading.  Hopefully, camping will become our new hobby.

I know how hectic a family’s life can become on any given school night.  I believe in building a sense of community in a classroom, thus creating an environment that allows for risk taking and student accountability for their learning. High expectations are set for each student, but so is consideration for the unique needs and learning styles each student brings to the classroom. Mistakes are welcome, as it how we learn our greatest lessons. I invite you to be active in your child's education, as we help them develop academically, socially, and emotionally to be confident learners.

If you need to connect me for any reason, the best way to get a quicker response is by emailing me at tgartenmayer@neshaminy.org . Looking forward to a great with your child and you.
