    Strategy: Multiple-meaning words.Identifying multiple-meaning words, or homonyms, will help you understand what you read. Using context clues in the sentence or nearby sentences helps readers identify the meanings of these words.

     

    perception: ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.

    aroma: a distinctive, typically pleasant smell.

    distinguish: recognize or treat (someone or something) as different.

    tactile: of or connected with the sense of touch.

    luminous: something that gives off light.

    transparent: something that one can see through.

    reflect: light bounces back without passing through it.

    illuminates: gives off light and makes the area around it brighter.

    judge: guess or estimate the size or amount of something
