Thank you for logging on to my classroom Blackboard site. I hope you'll find a lot of helpful information here. I'm incredibly proud to be back at Neshaminy teaching in the community I grew up in.
After I graduated NHS in 2006, I received my Bachelor's at Penn State University in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I started my career in Alexandria, Virginia teaching in Fairfax County Public Schools. I taught in a Title 1 school for four years as a first grade teacher. While I was teaching, I decided to go back to the University of Virginia for my Master's in Reading Education. With that degree, I was able to accept a job as a reading specialist at a large school right down the road from Mount Vernon.
I came back to the Philadelphia area in 2014 and did some work at a non profit (Children's Literacy Initiative) before ultimately coming back to Schweitzer Elementary. I'm so fortunate to be working with Neshaminy students, families and staff.
When I'm not in the classroom, I like watching and attending all Philadelphia sporting events, especially Flyers games. I read a lot (reading specialists tend to like reading) and enjoy trying new restaurants with friends and family. My dog Jasper and I also like getting outside and exploring.
