• Field Trips

Field trips are considered an extension of the regular classroom learning experience. Some field trips can be as simple as a walk around school grounds to look for erosion, viewing wildlife in their natural habitats, or collecting litter to help keep our environment clean. Other trips may be to take students to a local park to meet their Pen Pals, sing holiday songs to senior citizens or a visit to Poquessing Middle School for orientation. These trips occur within the boundaries of the Neshaminy School District. A simple parent permission may be all that is necessary in order to participate in this type of trip. Parents are often selected by the classroom teacher to serve as chaperones for trips.

Major Field Trips, which take students beyond the boundaries of our school district, are often referred to as Class Trips, will take students to one of several educational locations to help students gain a better understanding of the world around them. These trips may include the Philadelphia Zoo, Franklin Institute, Camden Aquarium, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell Square, Constitution Center, William Penn Mansion, or a local nature center such as Churchville Nature Center.

Field Trips are considered a very valuable educational experience for children. The Ferderbar Home and School Association generously provides funds throughout the year to enable every individual student in every class, every year, to experience the wonders of the world around them through the funding of the class trips. Many thanks to HSA for their generous support of all the children.

Field trip permission forms will be sent home by the classroom teacher prior to the field trip date.
