Hello and welcome to my website!

I am so excited to be working with the students at Herbert Hoover!

I graduated from LaSalle University in 2005 with a certification in elementary and special education.  I worked in Philadelphia for 10 years as an elementary education classroom teacher and a special education teacher.

In 2015, I graduated from Chestnut Hill College with my Master's Degree as a reading specialist.  At that time, I moved to the Pennsbury School District, where I worked as a special education teacher for 8 years.  In 2018 I completed a two-year certification program in Orton-Gillingham instruction.  Orton-Gillingham is a multisensory approach to teaching reading and writing.  It is effective for all students, but is especially effective for students with dyslexia. Currently, I am an Advanced level Orton-Gillingham practioner who is IMSLEC and ALTA certified.  Before coming to Hoover, I spent several months working as a reading specialist in grades 6-8 within the Pennsbury School District.  

In 2023, I was offered the opportunity to work as the Title 1 Reading Specialist at Herbert Hoover.  I am beyond excited to be here, and I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and passion for teaching reading with the staff and students.

When I am not at school, you can find me spending time with my daughter, running, and tutoring students with dyslexia.
