Homework Expectations
Homework is an important part of your child's educational program. In order to master skills they are taught, they must practice. Students will receive homework Monday through Thursday each week, in Language Arts and Math. A designated Homework Folder is essential for organization. On the left side will be papers to stay home, on the right will be their homework. The purpose of this folder is to assist in maintaining organization. Your child should have all their homework papers in this folder each night. Finally, in order for us to have better communication, please sign your child's assignment book each night. This is the best way to let the students know we are working together, as a team, to ensure success. I look forward to working with you to develop your child's independent study habits.HomeworkREADINGEach student is required to read for 20 minutes each night. This reading may be independent, with a parent, relative or sibling. The goal is to provide practice to strengthen learned word skills, and improve fluency and comprehension. It is helpful to discuss the text your child is reading to assist with the processing of the information.MATHMath homework will be assigned each night (Monday-Thursday) to your child. Please check your child's agenda book each night for specific assignment.
