Eighth Grade Move Up Day - June 14, 2016 - (Sandburg Auditorium) 8:30 – 10:45 AM - We would like to celebrate the 2015-2016 school year with our Eighth grade students. To help celebrate all of their accomplishments, we have a very special day planned.  The procession will start at approximately 8:20 AM.

12:11 – 12:41 - Lunch

1:00 – 2:55 - Students report to cafeteria for yearbook signing, snacks and drinks (provided by our PTO), DJ and dancing.

What to wearAll students are expected to be dressed suitably for this special occasion.  Gentlemen - suit coats are not required, but a dress shirt, slacks, shoes and a tie (optional) would be appropriate.  Ladies may wear a nice dress or blouse and slacks with dress shoes.  Strapless dresses will not be acceptable.  Students may also bring a change of acceptable clothes if they want to change after the ceremony.

 

Parents are welcomeParents are welcome and encouraged to attend the 8th Grade Move Up Day Program. Parents should park in the main parking lot and enter directly through the auditorium lobby.  There will be an area sectioned off for the students to sit. Please sit behind that area.   We are looking forward to a wonderful day to celebrate your sons’ and daughters’ transition to high school!                

Eighth Grade Social  June 10, 2016 - (Neshaminy High School - Cafeteria) 7:00pm-9:30pm - This social event unites our eighth grade students from all three middle schools as one high school class.  The night will include a DJ and dancing, Food (Chik-Fil-A nuggets, pizza, Rita’s Water Ice), beverages, and basketball/volleyball  in the gym. Tickets will be sold prior to the event beginning May 23rd.and will cost $10.00. Neshaminy Middle School 8th grade students only.

NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR

 
Attention all 8th graders!  Don’t forget to get a memory of your time at Sandburg!  Student Council is selling 10” x 18” copies of the 8th Grade Class Photo from the fall for $5.00 each.  See Mr. Simons in E-10 to get yours.
 
***We will need at least 10 cases of water as well as 10 parent chaperones for the 8th grade get-together at NHS.  Parent volunteers are to arrive at gym 3 at the high school by 6:30 on Friday, June 10th.   Please email Donna Jackson at djackson@neshaminy.k12.pa.us if you are interested.***
 
 ***Also - we are requesting donations for 8th grade move up day.  Please bring in your donation of Baked Goods, Fruit, Pretzels, Water, Gatorade, etc. into the main office the morning of June 14th.  (You may send in water/Gatorade prior to June 14th.)  Please email the PTO at SandburgPTO@neshaminy.k12.pa.us if you have any questions.  Thank you for your support.

Fitness club is on Monday and Thursday's from 3pm to 4pm with Mr. Hoelzle.  - The fitness Club will not meet today (5/23), instead it will meet tomorrow, 5/24.

Any 8th  grade students interested in playing football at Neshaminy High School need to attend a meeting with the head coach on Tuesday, May 31 during WIN period. Check in with your WIN teacher then come to the cafeteria. 

 
Anyone interested in playing Sandburg football next year there will be a  meeting during Win period on June 9th. Meet in the gym. 
  
 
Spring sport schedules:
 
Track Schedule -  The 5/6 home track meet against Maple Point is canceled and will not be rescheduled.
 
5-25-16 - away track meet at Neshaminy High School has been added to the schedule.  
 
On 4/20/16 our home 7th grade baseball against Newtown Middle School is now away at Newtown Middle School and on 5/17/16 our away 7th grade baseball game against Newtown Middle School is now home.  
 
The 5/3, away 7th grade baseball game against New Hope Solebury is canceled.
 
The 5/5 home 7th grade baseball game against Maple Point is postponed until 5/31/16.
 
The 5/23 home 7th grade baseball game against New Hope-Solebury HS is canceled.

    ATTENTION ALL SELECT CHOIR MEMBERS. There is NO rehearsal today. Go outside! Love, Ms. Rhy  -  Hey YOU! Are you talented? Can you play an instrument AND sing?? Select Choir will be evolving into a new group next year including a back up band.   We are looking for guitarists, drummers, a bassist, and keyboard players who can also sing. This will allow us to play more pop and rock tunes. New members will also be welcomed to audition.
