Hey all you Spooky Sandburg Students - It’s Trick-or-Treat for Unicef time And we need your petrifying participation!
If you’re not familiar with the amazing support Trick-or-Treat for Unicef provides, follow the link! http://www.unicefusa.org/trick-or-treat/about
Simply take the collection box everywhere you go from now until Halloween-parties, trick-or-treating, sporting or community events, or search your sofa for loose change-and fill your unicef box with cash/coins.
Bring your collection box to Mrs. Jackson by Wednesday, November 2 and help your homeroom win a spooky surprise! Don’t be a GHOUL- show your SANDBURG SPIRIT and take part in this worthy cause.
Our SPIRIT behavior for the month of October is Empathy - Empathy is the feeling that you understand and share another person's experiences and emotions or the ability to share someone else's feelings. You can show empathy by showing compassion or concern for others. You can be kind to others. You can help or assist without being asked. There are lots of ways to show empathy. Remember that one kind word can change someone’s entire day! Every day in the morning think to yourself - How will you show empathy today?
At the end of the day ask your self - How did you show empathy today? If you cannot think of a time when you showed empathy, please think of ways you can work harder tomorrow. Be kind to one another as everyone is fighting a battle that you may know nothing about.
---The varsity field hockey team beat Morrisville High School by a score of 3-0. Two goals were scored by Mary “The Goal Machine” Lauersen, and Cameron Moore rounded things out with dominant play all game and a goal for herself. Kaelan Davies and Lauren McManus kept the pressure turned up all game using a barrage of speed and killer drives, but it doesn’t stop there. The twin terrors known as the LaPierres, (perhaps you’ve had the good fortune of meeting them) were creating havoc all over the field as only they can do. Locking down our goal side of the field was our Tenacious D anchored by Skylar Spain, Elaina Rivera, Regina Schroeder and our mad dog goalie Carine Gulick. Nice job ladies.
---There is no varsity field hockey practice today, 10/25. Please be prepared for our away game against William Penn tomorrow.
--- An away JV field hockey game has been added for Friday, October 28th against Newtown Middle School.
---Yesterday, the Varsity Soccer improved its record to 3 wins, 1 tie and 3 losses by defeating Morrisville. Trevor Rush and Dameon Fochtman recorded the shutout while Jason Spencer and Lino Torres both scored a hat trick. Kate Grey scored twice with Mike Albarran and Mike Balbuena each scoring once. The team played well, moving the ball better and keeping possession. Great game Sandburg!
---Varsity Soccer does NOT have practice today, 10/25. Our next game is Wednesday, AWAY at William Penn. Remember to wear your favorite team jersey in support of Red Ribbon Week OR a shirt and tie.
- Cookie dough delivery is November 2nd from 2:50 until 4:30 in the Sandburg cafeteria.
