There is basketball with Mr. Durante tonight, Friday, October 31st and tomorrow morning, Saturday, November 1st.
 
Congratulations!  The 6th grade raised over $650.00 for the American Heart Association during Hoops for Heart today! Great Job!

Please check the lost and found in our main hallway.  There are several items that may belong to you!  In a couple of weeks, any items that is not claimed WILL be donated.

 
8th grade Information:
 
The Bucks County Technical High School will be hosting an Open House For Prospective Students and Families - Thursday, November 6th, 2014 from 7pm to 9pm.   A pink information pamphlet is available in the guidance office and in 8th grade homerooms.  Applications for BCTHS will be available at the open house or on the BCTHS website beginning November 7th, 2014.  BCTHS Website
 
ATTENTION 8TH grade students: There will be a bus trip to Bucks County Technical High School on Thursday, November 13th.  We will be leaving Sandburg at 9:00am and will spend about an hour and a half touring and learning about the Tech school. Those 8th grade students SERIOUSLY interested in learning more may pick up a permission form from the Guidance Office.  Forms are due back to the guidance office NO later than Friday, October 31st. 
  

Afterschool Activities/Intramurals:

There will be weight training after school today, Friday, October 31st.

 

Homework Help Information:

Does your child need extra help?? All teachers are available before school every Tuesday from 7:15-7:45 in their classrooms. No advanced sign up needed! We also offer homework help after school Monday-Thursday until 4:00 PM! It's a quiet place to get homework completed and assistance if needed! Musical:

Carl Sandburg Middle School Musical - “INTO THE WOODS JR.”AUDITIONS:   Monday, November 3rd for all 6th grade and all boys in 7th and 8th grade.  Wednesday, November 5th for all 7th and 8th grade girls.  Thursday, November 6th – Call backs – Lists will be posted on Mrs. Phillips web page Wednesday evening and will be posted outside of her room (A-3) by 8am Thursday morning.  Anyone unable to attend auditions will be placed in the company.

Unicef collection update - 3rd place - Mr. Sanchez,  2nd place - Mrs. Brashier, 1st place - Mrs. Romberger!  You have until Monday, November 3rd to turn in your money.  Keep bringing in your spare change!
 
Send your friend or yourself a treat on Halloween.  Buy a Boo Gram.  They will be sold at all lunches and cost 1 for $.50 or 3 for $1.00.  The special treat and message will be delivered to homeroom on Halloween, 
 
  
PTO Information:

The PTO is having a COACH bingo on November 14th @ 7:00 in the café.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  Quantities are limited. Contact the PTO for tickets.

 SADD Information:

Are you interested in winning $50 or $100?  Do you like making posters?  Think about creating a poster to promote alcohol awareness.  Contest is open until November 21st, 2014.  See Mrs. Martian for an application.

 

Sports Information:

   Practice for both the 110lb and varsity football teams are cancelled for today, Friday, 10/31,  due allowing you to enjoy holloween. Practice on Monday. 

No cheer practice today, Friday, 10/31.  Have a green weekend.  Be prepared for practice on Monday. 
 
The Sandburg Soccer teams will have their pizza party Monday, 11/3, from 3PM to 4 PM in E-10.  Have your uniforms cleaned and ready to turn it. 
 
Sandburg sponsors an indoor soccer team each year.  The team plays in a competitive U-14 Boys league at YSC in Hatboro.  Our team is open to students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.  Interested students need to see Coach Simons in E-10 for information.
 
Any 7th or 8th grader interested in playing basketball or wrestling must have a completed PIAA form turned into the office by the first week of  November.  Any questions please see Mrs. Mamie in the office.  
 
Tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls basketball will be on Thursday, 11/6, Friday, 11/7 and Monday, 11/10.  You must turn in your PIAA before tryouts begin!
 
 

Student Council Information:

Congratulations to the new officers of the Student Council!  Treasurer - Julia Lopez, Secretary - Keri Marable, Vice President - Alexandra Strugariu and President - Connor Watson.

 Student Council is sponsoring a door decorating contest for Halloween.  Time to show off your homeroom’s creativity and school spirit.  One winner will be selected from EACH grade level.  The winning homeroom receives doughnuts and hot chocolate.  Judging will take place on Thursday, October 30th and prizes will be awarded on Friday, October 31st.  Show your school spirit - get involved and have some fun!
