    --- Any student that is a bus rider and stays after to watch a basketball game or a wrestling match must take the 4:15 bus home. You are not allowed to take the 5:15 bus home.

    --- Sandburg would like to acknowledge the following students who participated Friday in the 10th Annual Middle School Leadership Institute at the University of Pennsylvania – Paris Jalloh, Jennifer Okwara, and Sam Zercher.  A message emphasized throughout the day was, “Your voice IS your power!”  Be powerful, make your voice be heard, gain knowledge, change your life, change your community, even change your world!

    --- Games Club will now combine all grades together when we meet.  Games Club Tuesday, 12/6, and Thursday, 12/8.  Listen to the announcements for day changes OR check outside E-10 or see Mr. Simons.

    --- Our next dance is Friday, December 9th. The theme is a Hollywood Dance. The kids can dress up as their favorite Hollywood star. This dance is for Sandburg Students only in 5th-8th grade. The kids in school will also decorate a star in homeroom.  The stars will be displayed at the dance and the kids will vote. The winning classroom will get a treat for best star.

  • Musical Information

    --- Do you like to be the center of attention?  Do your friends consider you funny?  Do you like to be loud and obnoxious?  Then Carl Sandburg’s musical, “Madagascar Jr.” is for you!  Auditions will take place December 6th and 7th.  Grab an audition packet in front of A-3 and a music CD from Mrs. Phillips and start practicing!!  Auditions are in the auditorium and as follows:  5th and 6th grade will audition on  December 6th from 3-5pm, 7th and 8th grade December 7th from 3-5pm.  Call backs are December 8th  3-5pm.  If you cannot make auditions or you have any questions please see Mrs. Phillips as soon as possible!

    --- The PTO will be working to help the SPIRIT Service Club with filling stockings for the holidays.  They are looking for items for ages 11-13. These items can be handed in to the school by Dec 1st.  Click here for a list of items

    --- The Sandburg Indoor Soccer Team opens its season this Friday, 12/2, at YSC in Hatboro as it takes on the Springfield Revolution at 6:12 PM on Field 2.

    Student Council meets on Day 1 during W.I.N.  We will be meeting on the following dates: Tuesday, Dec. 6, Monday, Dec. 12, Friday, Dec. 16, Thursday, Dec. 22 – NO MEETING due to SPIRIT Pep Rally - Please note, if school is cancelled (i.e. due to inclement weather) these dates would be adjusted accordingly.

  • Student Fundraisers

    - Sandburg collects Box Tops all year long!  Start clipping box tops and turn them in to your homeroom teacher.  There will be several contests throughout the year and your homeroom can win special treats.    Box top information    Shop Rite supports schools with boxtops! 

    - Show your Sandburg PRIDE!  Get INVOLVED and collect tabs to show your TEAMWORK for the Ronald McDonald House and Shriner's Hospital.  Please collect tabs at home (in a plastic container or baggie) and send in with your child to place in the containers in the lunchroom.  THANK YOU! We are Sandburg!

Attention 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Band Members: There is our final Thursday Night, 12/8, Band rehearsal this week from 6:30-8:15pm. It is your final rehearsal and attendance and all members are expected to attend.

Attention all music students: All Hershey Candy money must be turned in this week. Please turn in your candy money to Mr. Weiner immediately.

Attention Music Students: Please hand in your music “Shout Outs” for the concert program to Mr. Weiner by Wednesday. If you don’t have a form, pick one up near Mr. Weiner’s room.

Attention ALL choir students. Please check the informational board near the auditorium for your after school rehearsals for your winter concert. There are several you need to be aware of.
Upcoming choir rehearsals:
- Attention all 5th and 6th grade choir members. You have rehearsal today, 12/5, for your winter concert in the auditorium from 3-4pm. You will be taking the 4:15 bus home if you're not getting picked up.

- Attention all Concert Choir and Select Choir members. You have rehearsal this Friday, 12/9, from 3-5 in the auditorium. Wear your favorite rock and roll T-shirt or artist.
