8th grade Information:
The Bucks County Technical High School will be hosting an Open House For Prospective Students and Families - Thursday, November 6th, 2014 from 7pm to 9pm.   A pink information pamphlet is available in the guidance office and in 8th grade homerooms.  Applications for BCTHS will be available at the open house or on the BCTHS website beginning November 7th, 2014.  BCTHS Website

ATTENTION 8TH grade students: There will be a bus trip to Bucks County Technical High School on Thursday, November 13th.  We will be leaving Sandburg at 9:00am and will spend about an hour and a half touring and learning about the Tech school. Those 8th grade students SERIOUSLY interested in learning more may pick up a permission form from the Guidance Office.  Forms are due back to the guidance office NO later than Friday, October 31st. 


Afterschool Activities/Intramurals:

Attention debate team members: Our next meeting will be tomorrow, Thursday, 10/23, from 3-4pm.  Please arrange for transportation.


Homework Help Information:

Does your child need extra help?? All teachers are available before school every Tuesday from 7:15-7:45 in their classrooms. No advanced sign up needed! We also offer homework help after school Monday-Thursday until 4:00 PM! It's a quiet place to get homework completed and assistance if needed! National Junior Honor Society: 
Unicef collection update - 3rd place - Mr. Simons, 2nd place - Mrs. Sanchez, 1st place - Mrs. Brashier.
There will be a meeting for any NJHS member who is on the Boo Gram committee at 7:30am tomorrow morning.  If you cannot make that meeting, there is another meeting Thursday during lunch.  Please remember to pack a lunch. 
PTO Information:

The PTO is having a COACH bingo on November 14th @ 7:00 in the café.  Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.  Quantities are limited. Contact the PTO for tickets.


SADD Information:

Are you interested in winning $50 or $100?  Do you like making posters?  Think about creating a poster to promote alcohol awareness.  Contest is open until November 21st, 2014.  See Mrs. Martian for an application.


Sports Information:
Sport Team picture day is today, Wednesday, October 22nd, at 2:45pm in the cafeteria.

 8th Grade Soccer – after team pictures there will be NO practice today, 10/22.
Attention both - 7th & 8th grade Girls Field Hockey - after team pictures there will be NO practice today, 10/22. 
 Any 7th or 8th grader interested in playing basketball or wrestling must have a completed PIAA form turned into the office by the first week of  November.  Any questions please see Mrs. Mamie in the office.   Tryouts for 7th and 8th grade girls basketball will be on Thursday, 11/6, Friday, 11/7 and Monday, 11/10.  You must turn in your PIAA before tryouts begin!


Student Council Information:

Student Council will hold the election of its officers today, Wednesday, 10/22.  All representatives should stop by E-10 by  the start of 6th Period to vote.

Student Council is sponsoring a door decorating contest for Halloween.  Time to show off your homeroom’s creativity and school spirit.  One winner will be selected from EACH grade level.  The winning homeroom receives doughnuts and hot chocolate.  Judging will take place on Thursday, October 30th and prizes will be awarded on Friday, October 31st.  Show your school spirit - get involved and have some fun!  


Student Fundraisers:

Carl Sandburg's book fair started, Monday, October 20th and ends on Friday, October 24th.  It is open during the day for students.  Parents are welcome to visit the book fair in the library on Thursday, October 23st from 6pm to 8pm. Book fair online

Cookie dough delivery is on Thursday, November 6th from 2:45 until 4:30.  If this date does not work, call Donna Jackson 215-809-6220.

 Claire's Gourmet Fundraiser is 11/12/14 to 12/1/14 with a pickup on 12/17/14 between 2;45pm to 4pm.

Various Information:

KALEIDOSCOPE OF BANDS: The Neshaminy High School Music Department will host the 22nd Annual Kaleidoscope of Bands marching band festival on Saturday, October 25 at 7:00 pm in the Harry Franks Stadium.  The event will feature 9 area marching bands as well as the award winning N. H. S. Marching Band.  Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students / senior citizens.  All are invited to attend this exciting evening of musical entertainment and pageantry.
