    Checking Your Child's Work

    Buzz PDF Instruction

    TRANSCRIPT:

A number of parents have been having some difficulty with uploading their child's work, so this little guide will, hopefully, give a clearer explanation.

The first part of this process begins with your smart phone.

Your phone will be the tool that takes a photograph of your child's work and makes it a PDF.

You can do this one of two ways: with the app CAMSCANNER, or if you have an iPhone in the notes app.

     USING CAMSCANNER

    • Begin by downloading and opening the app
      • When you open the app, you will be prompted to spend money. You do not ever need to spend money. Click the "X" in the top left corner each time. It's an unfortunate step, but I promise it will always be free.
    • Click the green camera at the bottom center of the screen
    • Line your child's work up with the border of the rectangle and press the camera to take a photo
      • Once the photo is taken, there is an editing screen where you can more perfectly crop the photo, if needed
    • Press the green arrow on the bottom right of the page when it appears
      • This will take you to a page where you can edit the coloration of the photo, but you likely will not need to make any changes here
    • Press the green check mark in the bottom right corner
    • Click the email button at the bottom of the screen
    • Click "Share PDF" from the menu that appears
    • Click "Send" in the top right corner and send the PDF photo to your email address
    • On your child's laptop, access your email and download the photo
      • We recommend having a dedicated folder for each subject so that the photos can be easily accessed whenever needed
    • In Buzz, click the blue plus sign on the submission page and click "Attach A File"
    • Click "Choose," locate the photo on the computer, click "Open" and then "Upload"
    • Finally, click "Submit My Work" at the bottom of the screen, and the assignment will be complete and uploaded

Using Notes App (Only Available on iPhone)

    • Open the Notes app on your phone and begin a new note
      • This will not work if the note is backed up to Gmail
    • Click the camera icon above the keyboard and press "Scan Documents"
    • Position the assignment within the camera's borders and take a photo
      • If needed, after the photo is taken, you can crop it to more perfectly fit
    • Press "Keep Scan" at the bottom right corner of the screen
    • Press "Save" in the bottom right corner
    • At the top of the screen, click the three dots in a circle and then "Send A Copy"
    • Click the email icon and send yourself an email with the PDF
    • On your child's laptop, access your email and download the photo
      • We recommend having a dedicated folder for each subject so that the photos can be easily accessed whenever needed
    • In Buzz, click the blue plus sign on the submission page and click "Attach A File"
    • Click "Choose," locate the photo on the computer, click "Open" and then "Upload"
    • Finally, click "Submit My Work" at the bottom of the screen, and the assignment will be complete and uploaded
