National spotlight shines on Sandburg art project
Art educators across the nation are reading about an innovative project at Carl Sandburg Middle School thanks to an article by art teacher Brett Wallerstein. He wrote about his students biomorphic clay creations - sculptures that take on the shapes and patterns found in nature - for the January, 2017 issue of Arts & Activities magazine, the nations's leading publication for art educators. In the article he describes the history, purpose and execution of the project and included a series of photos of the finished artworks as well as his students working on them.
