    Dear Parents or Guardians,

Welcome to Maple Point's 8th grade - we are all dedicated to making this a productive and rewarding experience for your son/daughter.

As we all do our best to navigate this unprecedented school year, I will need parents and guardians to partner with me to motivate, support and educate our children about American History, civics, geography, economics and the current events of our country.Throughout the school year, I will be working to show the link between subject areas while making connections between current events and historical decisions. To help the students achieve their fullest academic and social potential, I will also be emphasizing organization and procedures.  In order to get off to a good start, each student will need to purchase a few materials (see Maple Point school website).

Your child's success in my class will depend upon a number of factors. Success must be a product of our mutual cooperation. Since you as a parent/guardian are the most important person in your child's life, I believe that your involvement in the educational process is of extreme importance. We must work together as a team to make this a productive and successful year. Therefore, it is necessary that we keep the lines of communication open between us. I will be keeping in touch with you throughout the year and I want you to feel free to do likewise. You may call me at my Maple Point number (215-809-7482) if you would like to speak with me or email me at:  aschmidt@neshaminy.org .

I am happy that your child is in my class and I am looking forward to working with both you and your child. I am certain that this will be a great year.

We can do it - together!

    Sincerely,

Ms. Anne M. Schmidt - Social Studies
