Who Takes Technology Education?
All students at Neshaminy take Technology Education at some point in their educational experience. This
experience begins in the sixth grade when all students take an introductory course in Tech Ed that exposes
them to the meaning of technology, problem solving, measuring and related areas.
In grades seven and eight, students go on to learn about Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Power, Manufacturing/Construction and Communication.
From grade nine on, Tech Ed is an elective course. Students may choose (depending on the school) from
full credit or half credit courses. These courses include those in Electronics, Power Technology,
Manufacturing, CAD, Graphic Communications, TV/Video or a general course that touches on a
variety of areas.
