Technology Education is a curriculum that embraces the technological world around us. It enables students to understand, adapt to and interact with technology.

Technology Education has evolved from Industrial Arts. The term Technology Education became common in the 1980's when educators realized the need for students to learn more about the rapidly developing technologies around them.

Technology Education (also known as Tech Ed or TE) is not job training. Educators found that there was a knowledge gap that traditional school curriculums were not addressing. Tech Ed fills that gap to teach students about areas of technology such as Communication, Manufacturing, and Power Technologies.

Technology Education prepares students for life in an increasingly technological and complex world. It gives them the problem solving and critical thinking skills that will help them comprehend devices and situations that they will encounter in their future.
