ATTENDANCE

ATTENDANCE REMINDER!

Compulsory school age is defined as the period of a child’s life from the time the child’s parents elect to have their child enter school, until the age of seventeen (17) years. Each child of compulsory school age is required to attend school and they should be on time. Each child shall attend school continuously through the entire term, during which the public elementary schools in their respective districts shall be in session. These statements are taken directly from sections 1326 and 1327 of state law.

NSD School Board Policy #552  (Student Attendance) states that “Habitual tardiness for reasons that clearly constitute unjustified partial absence from school will be treated with the same seriousness as an unexcused or unlawful absence with similar consequences. An accumulation of time missed from school due to tardiness can equate to whole days of truancy. Etc.”
