NSD New Family Enrollment and Residency Procedures

 
 
Welcome New Families,
 
Welcome new Neshaminy School District Families. We have an outstanding tradition of excellence in education, and we warmly welcome you and your children to NSD. Below are instructions on how to enroll your children in school. (This procedure is only for families that are new to Neshaminy School District. Families of children returning to Neshaminy School District should follow the "Returning Family" procedures.)
 
 
How to Enroll
 

Required Steps:

ð Establish Residency in the Neshaminy School District

ð Check the applicability of the Special Residency Situations detailed on the next page

ð Gather the required information listed below

      ð Review the Student Handbook for you child's school - Student Handbooks
      ð Review the Immunization requirements - Immunization Information 
      ð Review our Acceptable Use Policy -  Acceptable Use Policy (Policy 811)

ð Complete the required documents either by Registering Online or printing out a Paper Registration. See Below for more information

      

Required Documentation:

ð Student’s birth certificate, baptismal certificate or passport

ð Student’s Social Security card

ð Student’s unofficial transcript or final report card

ð Student’s IEP, ER and Nora if student is Special Ed.

ð Two (2) proofs of residency in the name of the parent/guardian in the following forms:

o Dated and signed deeds, settlement papers or rental contracts, current tax statements or bill

                  o Bills for utilities or services that are connected to the residence by pipeline, wire or cable (i.e. water, gas, electric, land phone and cable TV are acceptable, whereas credit card, insurance, wireless phone bills and driver’s licenses are not)

ð If applicable, Court-Issued Emancipation Document

 

Registering Online:

Register Online
  • If this is your first time registering a student online you will need to click register new account. Enter all the information then click Submit. Fields with an * are required. If you have previously registered a student online enter your Parent Login ID and Password.
  • Click New application 
  • Select Registration then click Go
  • Click on 'Show All Sections' to expand all the sections.Click on 'Hide All Sections' to collapse all the sections. 
  • Enter as much information as you can. Make sure to click Save after each section.
  • Please make sure to add all guardians as well as two emergency contacts
  • When finished check the I Agree checkbox and the click Submit.
  • Gather the required documentation above as well as print out and fill out the required additional forms below. You can call the school and setup a time to come into the office and complete the registration or wait for some to call you.
Dental Form (required for Kindergarten, 3rd, and 7th)

Act 26 Affidavit (required)
 
 

Paper Registration:

  • Although we prefer parents use our Online Registration process we understand that does not always work from everyone. 
  • You will still need to gather the required documentation above as well as print out the paper registration and fill out any additional forms below. You can then call the school and setup a time to come into the office and complete the registration.


Additional Forms
For your convenience and faster processing, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has provided a new online Free & Reduced Meals Application for families to apply for meal benefits
 

A Student living with his/her parent at the home of a relative or friend

A student, who along with his/her parent, is living at the home of a relative or friend in the Neshaminy School District must acquire a PARENT RESIDENCY AFFIDAVIT from the Guidance Office. The parent must complete the Parent Residency Affidavit and have it notarized.

 

A Student under 18 years of age, living with someone other than his/her parent

A student under the age of 18 residing without a parent at an address in the Neshaminy School District must supply an AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT from the district resident. Return the notarized Affidavit to the Pupil Services Department at District Offices in the Maple Point Middle School - 215-809-6588 - prior to scheduling your registration appointment at NHS

 

A Student 18 years of age or older, living with someone other than his/her parent

A Student 18 years of age or older residing without a parent at an address in the Neshaminy School District must have the property owner/renter complete a form letter stating that the student lives there seven (7) days and seven (7) nights a week. Both the property owner/renter and the student must sign the letter in the presence of a Notary.
